Technology has really gone high these days. Software systems are becoming more and more intelligent, sometimes, so intelligent as to be enough to replace humans in the office environment. There may be nothing wrong with employing intelligent systems in businesses, but think about it, say HR systems really replace humans in the field of Human Relations?
Ironic how the concept of HR systems can remove the human from a human relations department. However, with the efficiency and the likelihood of human error cut off by having a computer do all the work—well, the system can be said to be promising. But no matter how efficient an HR software is, or how less likely it will produce errors, it may never be able to provide that warmth and care interfacing with real humans provide.
This is not to say to scrap the system altogether and never use it for the sake of increased human interaction via real humans handling the HR department, no. But it may be important to consider the interfacing experience with efficiency and effectiveness.
At the end, to each his own. Some companies might actually be well off with a computer system doing HR work while others would require a department full of people.
